Metro Phoenix Chapter APA – December Meeting

Meeting called to order by Wendy Wyman, President, 6:00pm

Wendy called for new members.
- New members include Heather Mendez, Green-link Payroll
President’s update:
- New Business:
  - banking rights: Jo McCoy, Government Liaison, has been added to the bank account
- Wendy announced Christopher Simmons is the new Vice President.
- Spring Study Session: 5 responses received thus far, no venue just yet. If you want to participate in the study session, please email metrophoenixapa@gmail.com
Wendy announced the presenter: Today’s presentation is by JeeAnn Petrina on “Preparing for the Year’s End”
Government Liaison update:
- New Social Security Wage base for 2018 is $128,400.00
- Beginning on Jan. 1, 2018, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car will be: 5 cents for every mile of business travel driven, up 1 cent from the rate for 2017
- The 2018 standard rate for mile driven for medical or moving purposes will increase to 18 cents per mile, up 1 cent from the rate for 2017.
